Seer cookie and ads policy

This explains which cookies and similar technologies Seer uses (ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3) and national implementations) and how ads in the launcher work.

1. Website (seerclient.com)

Without your consent we set only strictly necessary cookies, and only when you sign in:

They are removed when you sign out. The website loads no third-party scripts, fonts, analytics or trackers by default (enforced by our Content-Security-Policy).

2. Launcher and game

The launcher stores your Seer and Microsoft/Minecraft sign-in in your operating system's secure credential storage and your settings in local files on your PC. These are needed to provide the service you asked for. Nothing is read from your device for advertising without your consent.

3. Ads in the launcher

The free launcher may show one ad slot. When ads are enabled:

  • The first time, the launcher asks for your choice using a consent tool that follows the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework v2.2 ([CMP NAME]).
  • No choice yet -> no ad is shown.
  • You decline -> only non-personalised ads (based on context such as the launcher itself, not on you) or our own "house" ads.
  • You accept -> the ad network [AD NETWORK NAME] may use identifiers and information about your device to show personalised ads, as described in its vendor list entry.
  • Accounts not confirmed as 16 or older never receive personalised ads, whatever is chosen.
  • Your choice is stored with the policy version and time in your Seer account (so it follows you to other PCs) and can be changed at any time in Settings > Privacy > Ads, as easily as you gave it.

4. Changing your mind

Website: sign out to remove the necessary cookies. Launcher: Settings > Privacy. Withdrawing consent stops future processing; it does not affect processing before.
